On the 9th September 2008, the Hunters Rest Pub/B&B was shown on the channel four series “The Secret Millionaire”.  Hilary Davey was the Secret Millionaire on the episode.

She spent 10 days living in Falinge Flats, Rochdale and she worked as a part time bar maid at the Hunters Rest Pub, whilst visiting various projects in Rochdale.  Later Hilary then revealed herself as the owner of Pall-Ex, a logistic company in Stafford.

Mary Spence, the owner of the Hunters Rest has since reunited with Hilary. Mary added:

"Hilary looked fabulous...she’s done a lot of good for Rochdale and hired a limousine to take me and my husband and some of our friends to the Midland Hotel in Manchester to say thank you for letting her work at the pub”.
